SessionBar is built to respect your privacy. This policy covers both the macOS app and the iPhone companion.

Who is responsible

SessionBar is made by Carlos Martinez, an independent developer. You can reach me at me@carlosmart.co.

What SessionBar collects

Nothing that ever reaches me. SessionBar has no accounts and no sign-in, and it contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. I do not collect, sell, or share your data, and I never see it.

What the app reads

On your Mac, SessionBar reads the session files that your AI coding tools already write locally, so it can show which sessions are running, which need your attention, and how much they have used. All of that reading and processing happens on your own device.

How your Mac and iPhone stay in sync

Session information is synced between your Mac and your iPhone through CloudKit, in the private database of your own iCloud account. This means the data does leave your device and is stored on Apple's servers, but it stays inside your personal iCloud account. Apple provides that storage under its own terms and privacy policy, which offer protections equivalent to those described here, and neither I nor anyone else can read it. Nothing is ever sent to my servers or to any other third party.

Third parties

Apple is the only third party involved, as the provider of iCloud and CloudKit. There are no others, and no data is shared with anyone for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.

Retention and deletion

Because your data never reaches me, there is nothing on my side to retain, and no consent for you to revoke with me. You remain in control:

• Turn iCloud sync off for SessionBar at any time to stop syncing.
• Delete the app from a device to remove its local data on that device.
• To remove synced data on iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, Manage Account Storage, and delete SessionBar's data. On your Mac, do the same from System Settings under your name, then iCloud.

Children

SessionBar is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top of this page and describe what changed.
